What the project needed.

Built to solve the technical challenge of rendering huge datasets on mobile maps without UI lag or memory spikes, using MapKit's native MKClusterAnnotation APIs.

What I shipped.

  • Engineered smooth 60fps MapKit clustering handling thousands of simultaneous store coordinates.
  • Implemented dynamic opening/closing hour calculators considering German holiday schedules.
  • Integrated Apple Maps turn-by-turn navigation directly from store detail callouts.

Technical architecture & leadership.

  • Authored spatial clustering algorithms, GeoJSON ingestion pipeline, and custom map annotation views.

Results in production.

  • Delivered a responsive, battery-friendly map experience capable of fluid zooming across national territories.
